Play2Day

Play2Day

I finally got round to visiting Play2Day at Guyhirn. I took a group of teenagers for a game of Lazer-Tag and it was brilliant! A couple of parents played too, and while we thought 10 minutes wasn’t very long, it is actually plenty long enough when you’re chasing, hiding from, and shooting lazers at, the other team. We did two sessions, then had drinks and a snack – lovely coffee, and all very well priced.
The bowling area looked great too,  so we look forward to giving that a go soon. We all came away pleased with our visit, having been looked after by a friendly team. They’ve got a range of events coming up: A spooky bowling and lazer tag night (31st October 6-10pm), Halloween Disco (Friday 26th October), and three Christmas events: Christmas Market (15th November 6.30 – 8.30pm) where the children can play in the Adventure Play area for free while you shop the stalls. Then 6-8pm Wednesday 19th and 1-4pm Thursday 20th December with a whole range of activities for children. Their Facebook page (Play2Day Wisbech) will have full details or call 01945 450629.
Just across the road is the Coffee Tree Experience. It’s become a meeting place for car and bike fans. The owner Jo explained they have regular meets of different groups between April and October. There’s Fenland Old Skool Fords; Classic and American, and also Motorbikes. There’s only the American meet left this year (last Monday of the month) but I thought it worth mentioning for those who have an interest in any of these vehicles and would like to find like-minded people to chat with, I’m sure Jo can put you in touch. If it’s anything like meets I used to go to, there’ll still be a get together, or online chat, even if the cars have been put away for the winter!

Back in the centre of town the season of concerts and winter socials is beginning, including Wisbech Music Society this Friday, with award winning graduates of the Royal Northern College of Music playing oboe, flute and bassoon. Tickets in advance or on the door Adults £10, Students (over 18) £7, accompanied children free. 7.30pm Trinity Methodist Church, Church Terrace PE13 1BL call William Morris 01945 463230.

Much more, especially for Halloween, featured on the Town Council website, or Facebook groups.
