Christmas Map

Christmas Map

I’m feeling Christmassy seeing all the lights twinkling – my favourites are the old ones along the famous Brinks, but the new ones are looking great too! Well done all involved in the Lights switch-on.
The next big event is the Christmas Fayre (I think I may have mentioned it before…!) It’s been fun being part of organising it, and getting as many people involved as possible. The Rose and Crown’s new owners have stepped in to provide Mulled Wine (and Pork rolls, I believe), and will be hosting a few stalls for the first time, including mystery box challenge, and crafts to make. The Castle also has some craftspeople, and with the food and other gift stalls, you’ll find all your presents this Sunday! The Ice Rink, fairground rides,Vivien the fire engine and Whaley’s Steam engine will give you plenty to see and do, and of course don’t forget to visit the Reindeer and Santa. The map is a new idea this year and will be printed on leaflets handed out on the day. (please check Facebook for updates on the Fayre, and apologies if I’ve missed anyone – it’s a big all-day town event, with so many people joining in!)

The Luxe will be handing out details of their latest shows, too. I love that they put on all the live shows of Ballet, Opera and London plays, it’s a luxurious way of watching fantastic world class performances, without having to travel and with a bar service! Perhaps buy membership or tickets as gifts?

If you want a little peace and quiet in the run up to Christmas, please come along to my crafternoons and do some making together, plenty of materials available, but bring your own if you prefer. Learn a new skill, or just join in making things for yourself, or to give to others. I’ll be making hats and scarves for refugees, as well as presents for my family and friends – sewing and crochet, for beginners and experienced, all ages welcome. If you haven’t booked already, get in touch now for details of where and when. A new series of classes will be available to book in the new year, so register your interest now by emailing lorena@redbarncreative.org.uk
